how did you get into eroge games?

i'll start

one day a year ago, 2 friends and 1 were catching a movie.. before the movie started we would sit around and have lunch at various fast food joint

we were talking about different types of anime, one thing lead to another.. until we were talking about fate/ stay night..
( i was quite a huge saber fan back then because of the anime)
one of my friends suggested that it started out as a visual novel (at that time i had no idea what a visual novel is..)



he said its a cross over between a manga and a novel (he said the backgrounds were still and the characters that were talking would pop in and out as they were speaking)
at first i wasnt interested, until he said there is hentai! (being a perv that i am, i got intrested and asked him if the H material was good, and stuff like that)
he said that the h material in fate/ staynight was terrible and that the novel focuses on plot over the h content..
( i still didnt care, i just wanted to see saber in the nude)
after we watched the movie, i asked him to give me a ride back to my house... while we were driving back i was asking him all these questions about the fate/stay night novel.. everything from how they made the fight scenes to the plot.. (at that time i didnt know there were routes and stuff)

when i arrived back home, i immediately jumped on the comp and looked high and low for the fate/stay night novel (this took me along time! since it was my first time trying to find a visual novel)

after a few hours i found some links that worked and downloaded the game
now that i have the game, i had no idea what to do with it!
i was sitting around with an .iso
these files were on my comp for over 3 months

and one day another friend of mine (different from the 2 i had lunch with)
suggested i try out utawarerumono.. he gave me the game with daemon tool (i had no idea what daemon tool is)
a few days passed and i have yet to open a novel, until i finally broke my silence and asked my friend how i would play the game..
he told me all about daemon tool and everything about a virtual mount

as soon as i learnt this, i immediantely mounted fate/stay night (and thought wtf, its in japanese!)
i searched google to see how i could get it to translate (which was when i found out about mirror moon)

after this i successfully installed the game in english and started it

when i first started the game i was totally dissapointed because it was basically a novel with pictures (lol)
but still, i wanted to see sabers naked body and forced myself past the prologue
the ending part of the prologue was great! to my surprise

then when the first day started (when the main character is shirou emiya)
i thought wtf! this is boring (once again)
after i passed the first night (passing the archer vs lancer fight)
i got totally addicted! i though the saber vs lancer fight was epic and everything!
from there on, i was addicted, and zoomed past the different routes (while developing feelings for the characters)





this was my first visual novel experience.. ( i was at the age of 20, im 21 atm so im very new to the eroge genre)

it started out very slow (and i would never imagine i would enjoy visual novels as much as i would now)
heck i would even say i started out being dissapointed at visual novels!
the H scenes was the main and only reason i didnt quit within the first 10 mins or the novel


so what are your first experiences with a visual novel and how did you feel back then?

I started off with Come see me tonight! 1 and 2. Liked what I so, so continued into others.

ero-game...hmm, well H-game for short.
hmm i dont remember when, let say 3 years ago. I into TRPG or some of my friends called it JRPG. So i asked 1 of my friend to lend me some of his games, and he gave me Utawarerumono. It fun and no thing special storyline until i got to see some H-CG XD. That the 1st time i played a H-game. Then I asked my friend, got some explain why he gave me the game (he want to turn me into an Otaku like him)...Well he gave me some non H-Vn first, the story was great and i love reading, the best part was i can read and listen to BGM while staring at pretty girls XD. Soon i became addict, and asked for more....And you know the rest, XP

i got ero-game accidentally when i buy the fate stay night game.
i swear i never know that this game is eroge because i just watch the anime and think "this is great"
so i play it on my pc and.........wel,l it makes me addicted to eroge now~

a friend of mine introduced me to Melty blood, a fighting game based off of the tsukihime charicters. from an interest in the characters and such we both found the amine and then from the amine the game. as my addiction to all things type moon grew so did my interest in the VN and ero game genres grow.

My first erogame is Knight of Xentar 3... the game just somehow popped into my computer desk at home one fateful day...

The cover doesn't show it as a hentai game... it is an anime rpg game... and... being a rpg fan, I just had to start it right away...

And got my first dose of animated rape gang - bang hentai in the first tavern... ... ...after I finished playing the game ... I am rather dissapointed when I learned that the main heroine will be never be f***ed in the game..... only to show the possessiveness of the main hero... to the players...

I never stopped searching for hentai game until now... wow... more than 10 years now......

my first two were F/SN and wanko to kurasou. I started both simultaneously.

good contrast, and both are awesome games...

so it's easy to get hooked.

My first hentai game was a pretty old one... Well... I was only 7 at the time... xP
Even DOS I think...
The main char had a dream and gained some weird powers... I remember that his stats increased as awards from gods... When he beat the highscore from the game that his friend made, the gamming god awarded him some stats... Well... It was one of the best hentais I've played... ^^

Began with Katawa Shoujo (uncomplete) and I was like hmm... nice story line

My first VN or eroge as some would say was with the game X-change.

Along time ago I had just found a random download for the game on a random forum. I had heard of visual novels and the like and always thought the concept was interesting and here was this download for a visual novel that alot of people seemed to like and it was really small. So I gave it and shot and loved. It.

That lead to looking into other VN's and I played all the games in the X-change series(as they came out mind you this was before they were all released.)

Then along came Fate/Stay Night which I consider to be the best VN ever created. The game completely owned my life for a week or two as I went through all the paths and even tried to get all of the bad endings so I could see all of the Taiga's Dojo hilarity.

Pretty much since then I have been playing any VN I hear good things about. I tend to prefer a good story and likable characters over H content. But that's just me.

my 1st VN is Yume Miru Kusuri - A Drug That Makes You Dream

at 1st, i bought this just because it is eroge n because it is eroge, of course it's contain some hentai stuff (that is what i thought when i bought this game).
when i played it, even the hentai stuff i skipped it because i want to know the story quickly. the hentai isn't that important n the text is almost the same with the other hentai screen.
when i was done playing this, 2nd was Bazooka Cafe n come along Snow Sakura.
n right now, i already have played many VN n still want to play more ^^

My first experience in eroge would be Idols Galore. I think my age at that time would probably 12 or some sort. I was at a random VG shop and browsing through the games they had until I stumble upon a game that shows females on the cover. I looked at the back cover and read the description, I saw the naked censored girl that has blurred a little. I bought the game and man, I was so freaking nervous. My heart was like beating non-stop. I was underaged and tried to buy those stuff. I was afraid that the shop attendants will stop me from buying it and tell my parents but thank God it never happened. Though I was trying to keep it as a secret from my parents. At first I was only playing it because of the H-scenes and CGs. Back then I never read the texts... As soon as I play, there were like naked girl, sex and everything. Tried to skip everything and collecting the CGs. And finish the game.

But I got bored of looking at the CGs and tried to read the texts a little. Start from H-scenes part, then from beginning to the end of the game. I wasn't really interested but after reading through a route, I got feel the story and I said to myself "Not bad". Then I have internet online in my house tried to find more. And now I like to play VN which is more plotwise and not really focus on H. Aah, how nostalgic those days were...

Heres how i got into it. One day i was watching an anime called shingetsutan tsukihime. I found myself totally immeresed in the story line or maybe the lack of one, and then asked wait is this it seriously!??!?!? So then off i went on a quest over the internet learning more about the story because it had soooooooo much potential i couldnt believe it would end like that. The to my amazement i found out that it was indeed a video game!!! From there i had to get the game, and got it translated Hoorah for mirrormoon. Then from there i played it read the complete five stories was moved to tears and got hooked onto eroges with good stories. I love tragedies btw made it that much more of an impression on me. I suggest it for anyone else who hasnt tried it yet and yes theres an english translation out for it and its sequels. (-.-)b
