t-mobile has released what i think is the king of the cell phone market now. this new phone beats the crap out of the iphone

here are some of the things i have seen it do.

scan bar codes to find the lowest price of a item.

book plane tickets.

and other much more awesome stuff

I must say, I really do like that phone, though I won't be getting it because I have a phone contract with AT&T. I hope that AT&T releases an Android phone, but I dunno if they will or even want to. One thing though I just do not like is touch screen. I am not a fan of pure touch screen interfaces (which is what makes the HTC-G1 so awesome, because you can use the trackball as well) as I prefer something more tactile. The use of the touch screen is one of the reasons why I cannot stand the iPhone. If AT&T releases an Android phone I may be tempted to go for it even though I next to never use my cellphone anyways just for the simple fact that Android is open source.

All that said I don't think that the HTC-G1 is an iPhone killer for the grand majority as is, it still lacks many of the things that people love about their iPhone such as multi-touch interface (which is patented by Apple so Google couldn't include it in their Android OS and lead to them putting on a trackball for the HTC-G1) but it does have many great features as well (from what I hear it has terrific support for Google Apps). Maybe the next Android phone will be an "iPhone killer"

On a related note [Only registered users can see links. ] will hopefully run flawlessly on Android (since Android is Open Source this is quite likely, barring Google stupidity), whereas more than likely you won't be able to get Fennec on your iPhone as Apple doesn't want competition for it's mobile Safari browser, so unless it is jailbroken no Fennec for you (Remember: on the iPhone Apple controls everything).

Yah the G1 looks like a great concept phone. By this, it was a phone to basically get a base for the market.

I think that AT&T would release an Android phone if they could assure a market platform.

Once the devs get going with the Android SDK and make some good programs (free or not) the people will follow.

On a side note for AT&T users. The X1 from Sony or HTC Fuse (pro) should hopefully be coming out sometime this year to fill your needs if you're anti-iphone

I've watched it on TV about G1 and heard that it is pretty good but for me , a decent mobile is more than enough xD don't really like a combination of laptop with mobile together .But G1 look cool

My manager at work has one and it looks like its a pretty sweet phone.
