Re: Com Spec? help needed
If u need a 3D program (or render aplications) from nvidia the best is the GTX 2XX series and the 9800GX2 because of their high amount of stream proccesors (used in CUDA aplications).
Nobody talk about the PSU :)
PSU is one of the most important things, crappy PSU = Burned computer.
If u get one of the high GPU i mention u need a PSU with 1 PCI-E 8 (6+2) pin and 1 PCI-E 6 pin (its for power supply), its highly recommended to get a 650w+ REAL WATTS (very important to be REAL) PSU for good operation, good brands are Antec, Coolermaster (high range), Silverstone, PC Power&Cooling.
The Motherboard u mention use Intel Chipset G33 (kind old), u can better ones with more recent chipsets like P45 (ex: Asus P5Q) or X38 (ex: Asus P5E3), also it will determine the CPU u can use (Front Side Bus speed, Nm technology), RAM memory speed and type (DDR2 800, DDR2 1066, DDR3 1333, etc), amount of video cards (be sure it have a PCI-E 16x port or u r screwed :D) and other stuff.
The CPU be sure to ask the model and look for it in wikipedia to see the nm fabrication, cache (very important in 3D render), FSB, voltage and multiplier (for overclock). For example a "Dual Core" of 3Ghz look good but if it is a Pentium D 830 u will have a cute bottleneck ^^.
The RAM memory also ask for speed (800 mhz, 1066 mhz), brand, cooling system of them because its not the same a generic DDR2 1066 RAM than a G.Skill DDR2 1066 PC2 8500 Pi version (omg i love them). If they are "cheap" ones u will have a bad performance and the risk that they can screw ur system (if they overheat lots and no cooling system it can pwn ur motherboard).
The Hard Disk ask Cache Size and RPM (7200 rpm or more are good). I recomend you a Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 series (storage from 250GB ~ 1.5TB) or a VelociRaptor for high performance.

Haha Sonic is slower than this neko
