i could cry

i live in a county that wants to be one of the most developed ones in the world. furthermore i live in the most industrialized area of that country. And yet I get only an asynchrounous internet connection that allows only 16ko up and 128ko download per second, paying 80 (79) euros per month for it and getting regularily dis/re-connected because they want to rotate ip addresses . Changing the internet provider doesn t change a thing because all the network in this country belongs to the same company and the other providers only use their network ( while havin to pay for it )
what is that?!
next normal telephony. this country poses with it s telephony network allowing 90% of the households to phone at the same time, while in each of the 'less developed' eu countries multiple phone calls can be done from each household at the same time.

now to television. hdtv is a standard? not to us. not a single non-pay per view channel runs on hdtv here yet. however you have to pay even if you don t have a television because you have (1) a computer with a CD drive or (2) a computer with internet access, because you could download ( or have someone else download and record you ) movies and watch them on your computer.

now i don t care about HDTV because HDTV isn t HD in my opinion anyway ( i want 32 bit floating point per element precision ( = 128 bit colour depth ) instead of just a stupid high resolution or frame rate ), but give me bandwidth. here 'ipv6' is a vocabulary at best , too , which is incredibly annoying if you want to download torrents from eastern asia ( especially from the peoples republic of china ). speaking of torrent, i also feel so pathetic that i can normaly never get a good sharing ration unless i run it in the university network which is also morally questionable... because i have an annoying asynchronous connection that has an upload limit of ... is it a joke?!

>.<*

i could cry.

Ugh the worst side of monopoly. If there is only one company that control all the communication in your country that is the risk. The service is lame, and the telecomunication network are also lame. That mean that the internet is also lame. Just move elsewhere then that have a better connection.
If u want try to sue that company for robing u out of your money... that much for a lame connection is a robbery.

that company the routing hardware is belong of, "of cause", isn t doing any kind of traffic priority shaping or things like that, probably because their hardware isn t programmable, but on the same time they are checking that you don t use modems they don t want you to use ( after all you re not being shaped, so if you had a modem that transmits 1Mops half the towns traffic would go loss because you re taking all the bandwidth ( that might sound like an idea a noob with no clue about how networking works would come up with - but in fact that has already happened alot of times, especially last year ) )

yesterday - or rather today - i was keeping awake until nearly 4 o clock in the morning doing useless things like playing touhou 1 or hanging in the spam section ( which is bad because it causes upload ) while uploading mahou sensei negima shiroki tsubasa ala alba ... but as you can see i didn t finish because my internet provider decided to rotate ip-addresses after 6 hours of me uploading ...
( i don t know whether they are dc-ing me to rotate ip-addresses but that s the only thing that makes sense to dc people multiple times each day - as usual people from their hotlines have no clue at all and aren t even able to find out when you got dc-ed )

*wants to kick his internet provider*

because people who work at the better-payed half ( industry ) of the jobs over here don t need to seriously care about 79 euro/month, and since nonflatrate dialup internet was more expensive before noone protested when they started charging 79eu/month about 6 or so years ago ( it was 6 years ago that flatrates became availible where i live, they had been around elsewhere in this country - especially in the bigger cities - for much longer ).
That, and because the dominant internet provider doesn t need to bother if you run to a competitor, because if you do that, the competitor will have to pay them for using their network instead.

the good thing about the european union is that i don t become an illegal immigrant if i move somewhere else ( inside the eu ). AFAIK all countries but spain in the western and all but poland and hungary in the eastern part of the EU have at least twice as much bandwidth for private networks, but then even if its poland or spain/hungary i ll pay only like 20 euros instead ( probably 20 euros are more in hungary or poland then here but it should be less then factor 4 ) of 80 for the same down bandwidth and the upload is >100kops, too.

moving away is what alot of midscale companies have been doing the last decade ( the large ones too but they move to eastern asia ( esp. the democratic chinese republic and indonesia but recently the trend starts to move to the peoples republic of china instead ) while the mid ones keep inside the eu ), but the propaganda is successfully holding up an image of them running to countries with low wages ( such as ... france //@.@// )

Try my way if you want... I am always net jumping between cafes (until my net is fixed).

They who live in a competitive business world will constantly try to offer better services... including internet... so I always carry my downloading necessities with me everywhere I go. Setting up the console can be pretty quick. Note which are good for downloading-browsing-chatting-torrent (yes... torrent), etc.

It can cost more in the long run though. I've established my chain within my hood... (a total of 4 cafes each with similar speed) so I can still have roughly the same cost compared to my net. Why 4? morning-day-night-midnight...

I heard in China every net is soooooo limited... consider yourself in a better condition.

Life is a game and I intend to enjoy playing it

from what i hear from people coming from china the net over there is quite fast ... i.e. faster then the university network here.

internet cafes ... hmmm... there is one somewhere around , and the next is about 20 km away ( and i don t have a car ... and trains are expensive here )
i have no clue what connection that internet cafe has, but i ll find out \\>_<//
