Hey everyone, I was wondering if anyone knows a good program to use to make a collage type of layout,such as get a buch of pics put them together to make a wallpaper

Well the best for me still is and will always be Adobe Photoshop. But you can use gimp too. :P They are both image editors, but requires some knowledge to use tho.

gimp is a rip off in my opinion...pretty much photoshop is the only good program if you're looking for a first rate editor

Yeah I'm using Photoshop CS3 and its kinda confusing I just wanted to know if there are other easier softwares out there to use, thanks alot for the help and suggestions

yeah Photoshop is the best Programm ever but it is hard to understand if you a newcomer in that so i would in you case use gogle to find a programm that you can use and then maybe to make the perfection use the PS or look in google for some Collage Tutorials tht is one of the best ways to lear more about photoshop and you can make the Wall like you want ;)

if CS3 confuses you, you should use photoshop CS2 instead, im still using CS2 and it suits my needs just fine...CS3 is for hardcore editors...

Definitely Photoshop or Paint.Net, Paint.net is a really good one if you want a good layout and tools. I use it more than photoshop believe it or not. Paint.Net has loads of plugins you can get (both file-formats and effects) and is completely open-source so you can develop anything for it as well. Paint.Net in my opinion is the closest thing that I've ever used thats near Photoshop CS4 (Yeah I have the beta so dont get surprised about the 4)

Photoshop, Paint.NET, or GIMP They are the best but I prefer Photoshop instead of Paint.NET or GIMP

Photoshop is the best imo. There is a larger community for it when it comes to accessing resources such as brushes, gradients, etc.

confused with photoshop??? at least so many ppl use it and u can always ask advice from them

and yea, use cs2 coz cs3 is soooooooo confusin.........
especially if u newbie in PS

other than tat, if u want wallpaper juz put a req............u can always ask 4 ppl here 2 make 1 for u

Seconding paint.net for simple stuff like collages. Gimp is quality too, it can do functionally everything Photoshop can, but sometimes it's a little more complicated, and can be a touch unstable on Windows. I'd have to disagree with CS3 being much different at all than CS2, aside from 3d support there almost identical, but whatever works I guess.

Thirding Paint.Net, Its open source, you can develop your own plugins for it, easily expandable, doesn't take long to boot up (unlike Photoshop sometimes). Has an extremely user friendly interface and cando most things seamlessly (hell I translate mangas using it).
