46465 Chronicles of the Cursed Sword

Tokyopop's ongoing manwha, keeps on carrying on. Time to get the low-down the Chronicles Of The Cursed Sword.

SYNOPSIS

It is the "ERA Of Warring States." Emperor Moosunje has gotten his hands on a powerful sword, known as the PaChun Sword, a blade that absorbs the blood of humans. Rey Yan the owner of it's counterpart--the Pasa Sword, a demon drainer is on a quest with his adpoted sister Shayo. After a fending off a demon, they save a young man Jaryoon--his plea to lead them to the captail to end the war. Little does Rey Yan know, the joureny has only began for him and his life as he knows it.

With many sercets revealed to him, trust betaryed, and new allies gained, can Rey Yan, be the hero the world needs...?

Thoughts

This manwha is my favorite by far. The story with 32 voulmes and going, has me hooked. The characters are strong and soild, the art beatufuil, and the story getting most influence from Chinese Mythology. The plot is a mix of orginal, a bit of high-fantasy, and a bit Chinese myth. Translation, it is all good and worth to be picked up for a read.

The story itself plot lines and arcs are amazing. Even though it is a story, the character growth in Rey is very impressive and grabs the soul of a growing-young, cold young man to a heroic figure. Even though he seems like a anti-hero wielding the demonic Pasa Sword, the sword (that talks) and Rey seem like hero out to save the world. The execution is brillaint.

Put it all together with magic, cat-girls, demons, loose mythology, and a antigonist that make the Inu-yasha and typically Japanese story lines look like kid-stuff and you have a soild story. I have no idea how far or how long it will take the story to finish, but I HIGHLY RECOMMEND you pick this up, you won't be sorry.

SCORE: 5/5

PROS: Strong Character, Good Development, Nice Art Work, Solid-Original Storyline, Funny & Whimsical Moments, Not many cons to be seen, Leaves you wanting more.

CONS: None, if any. Not much.
