summary: Shuhei Amamiya has been playing the piano since he was 4 years old and his dream is to become a pianist. However, he has just transferred into a new school, and in his class is a boy named Kai, unlike Shuhei who practices hours upon hours to get a song just right, Kai memorized them by just listening. Behind Kai's house is a forest and there is a grande piano there. No one is able to play that piano except Kai who has never had piano lessons and loves the piano in the forest. Kai's music teacher noticed Kai's incredible talent and thus begins the rivalry between Shuhei and Kai to be the best pianist in the world (best piano player).

opinion about the series:
I loved this. ^^ the drawings aren't very nice and i read the original raws borrowed from my sch library. I didn't even get to finish it, got stuck at bk 7 cuz thats where my sch library had till ><. Basically, its abt Kai's passion for music and Shuhei's want to surpass Kai, though seemingly unable to as Shuhei's father is a pianist, Shuhei has been forced to play the piano since young and aimed for perfection, which he did get, but to him, Kai's piano is 'beyond perfection', and at a level which is 'unreachable' for him. Now, before i give more spoilers, i'll stop around here. Its really beautiful, and i suppose its message is that passion for what you do is the most important ^^

notes: theres an anime movie on it too =D and the manga's definately on onemanga, i may upload it here on wed when i have time ^^
oh, and the title, 'Piano no mori' means piano in the forest

those who love 2 read a hardworkin but soft story, then tiz manga iz good

but 4 those lookin 4 cute drawin and else then I recommend u not 2 read tiz manga coz in the beginning of the manga I also almost puke when I see the drawin <.<
another attention tat the story goes a bit slow, so if some1 lookin for some action then u also better forget bout tiz
1 good thing iz the manga artist do a good job in drawin the BG

so far already read till 12th volumes.......the story divided by 2 = the childhood story and grownup story
in the childhood, the story goes 2 the how hard the life of tiz talented protagonist
in the adult, the story goes 2 the way the protagonist keep on livin while in the same time try his best to reach his dream, with all twisted problem in the grown up man world and shadow of the past

note : actually there'r so many good manga tat not scanlated yet but I already read 4-6 volumes, thx 2 the nation book company and some pirated companiez <.<, 4 example like zettai karen children, already read till vol......8 or 10??

I read the raw, as in chinese raw and not scanlated, the real manga book...till vol.7, thats all my sch library provided >< i don't mind chinese raws, but i can't find any T^T It isn't even sold in singapore......

Oh, i thought that scene was rather sad, then Kai was saying that 'that night, i lost the most precious thing in the world' but the piano was getting spoiled and he would have to lose it one of the days

@Justme: I've watched the movie and it's pretty nice. The only reason why i'd say it wins the manga is that we can listen to the piano playing...but otherwise manga wins, because there's more plot.
