Any fans of 2D fighters here? I enjoy King of Fighters (mainly 98, 2000, and XI), and a bit of Melty Blood and Street Fighter II/III.

Recently I've been playing a good bit of Capcom vs SNK 2, on my Dreamcast. Quite fun, I get to use some of my KOF characters in a Capcom fighting game. The timing for the moves I'm used to is much faster, so is harder, and the six-button layout doesn't do too well on a DC controller (but the d-pad's awesome!).

I'm planning on diving into the Darkstalkers series soon, as well. KOF '98 Ultimate Match will be out in this country next year, and soon KOF XII will be out as well. I'm also thinking of buying Neogeo Battle Coliseum, only $13 now (as is KOF XI, but I bought that months ago for $20).

Well I played Marvel vs. Capcom series, KoF 97,98,99 and Melty Blood. I like KoF and MvC series because you can actually spam attacks and supers too(kinda noobish but i like that). Set your controls into beginners level and WALLA easy combo succession.

SF II and the original Mortal Kombat will always hold special places in my heart, but I'm flaky I roam from genre to genre when ever I get bored of the last one(which is often) but I'm really looking forward to MK vs. DC, from what I've seen it looks like MK'll claim another chunk of my life, lol. until then I might dust off the old consoles(if they still work) and indulge in a bit of nostalgia.

Been attempting to relearn how to play fighting games: with an arcade stick. I can tell at once that in the future it'll be better, but for now it's painfully difficult. I really can only pull off quarter-loops, half-loops uppercuts (sometimes), and occasionally to the right, a double quarter-loop.

I'm also taking this time to start learning how to play Super Street Fighter II Turbo (since there's no uber-complicated moves like in CvS2, it's easier with the stick), but I suck at it (the AI has godly timing). Playing with Ryu, but not entirely sure I'll stick with him (problem is, none of the characters really attract me that much).
