Hi all, I was thinking about getting one of the two systems and was wondering what you guys would recommend. On the PS3 side, the Blue-ray player is looking pretty attractive since its the same price as a stand-alone player and I'm a big Square Enix fan. But the Wii has some good RPGs too and has more entertainment value for when friends are over. Thoughts?

If you ask me Ps3 ain't worth the price with it's current game-library, but if you're after the BD-player it could be a good deal i guess.
It's all a matter of taste too, the only game on the Ps3 worth having atm is MGS4 imo, but i know some people are bound to disagree with me.
It has some really awesome games on the way though, although if you have a 360 already it might not be much of a point to buy a Ps3 since most games are comming to that console too.

Wii has Super Mario Galaxy, Zelda, Metroid Prime 3, Mario Kart, Super Smash Bros Brawl, No More Heroes (and more, but i can't be arsed to write 'em all down) and the Virtual Console which is brimming awesome games.
If you just want pretty games with good graphics don't buy the Wii though, even though SMG and the likes are beautiful it can't compare to the Ps3.

With all that said, it's all about your preferences really.

Wii have a big game-library but bad at graphics.
PS3 is best for it graphics and Blue-ray but do not have many games for now.

I was planning to but PS3 the moment the FF13 come out but at the E3, Square-Enix announced that they would also release FF13 for XBox360, which I already brought. Xbox360 has almost all game in PS3 and it is cheaper than PS3.

I myself would say PS3.

I have spent my entire life with Nintendo. I seriously did not get my PS2 until last Christmas. Up to that point, all I had ever gotten were Nintendo systems. I say this to prove that my point is not biased as a sony fanboy.

I never have been a huge fan of Mario or Metroid. Zelda was about the only console exclusive series that Nintendo has that I enjoy. Mario has just become milked... and Metroid honestly bores me. The bosses are the only fun part, but there aren't enough of them...

The Wii only has 1 game that I really wanted. Fire Emblem. RE4 and TP are both MUCH better for the GC. The port to the Wii both felt awkward and terrible.

The Wii is also brimming with horrid 3rd party games. And most of them are party games. Ugh...

Now the PS3 is not much better off at the moment. It's got Metal Gear Solid 4, and White Knight Chronicles. Not much else...

But it does have some really big hitters coming out latter. And, this may just be my belief, but I would much rather have FF XIII for the PS3. Reports said that FF XIII was going to use the PS3 to it's max. I highly doubt the 360 version is going to look as good as the PS3 version. And I have been a FF fan my entire life. I just want to play the game the way it was meant to be played.

I don't even care that it's coming out for the 360. I myself am going to buy the PS3 version. Sony Fanboys need to get over this. All it means is that more people will end up playing the game. Get whichever version you want. I just think that the PS3 version is going to be more accurate to what the game is supposed to be.

So yeah, my choice would be the PS3. But really, it all depends on what kind of games you want to play. In all honesty, the 360 would be the best choice in terms of games.

I'd go with Wii. Although a PS3 is cool and all, I mainly play games with friends and family so a Wii does a better job at furfilling that role.

PS3. The wii doesn't seem that interesting to me. It's fun to play with friends i admit. but there aren't any games that really seem that interesting to me and the graphics aren't that good >< Well, they do have zelda and mario.
The PS3 has great graphics and it's got square enix, which is more than enough reason to pick them ^^ I've always been a huge FF fan. Also, it's got blue ray. But the games for it havn't been that great lately >< I'm still waiting for FF (which seems to be taking an aweful long time).

They both sound appealing but i'd choose PS3 over Wii because PS3 has some of the best or will soon have some of the best games on it. The Ps3 still has a great potential when compared to the Xbox 360 which is overheating so i'm certain theres better games to come.

Graphics don't make games more fun, and SquareEnix ain't Sony exclusive

id say a PS3, my friend got a Wii and he said after like a month or so the Wii got boring and he wished he got one of the other systems instead

yo, Ps3 is traditional, and IMO better for people who want to play games alone. when U dont have s.o. by your side all the times, Ps3 is the choice !

Agreed. Wii is more of a player vs. Player. console for friends and you. PS3 is more standardized. Good for single player IMO.

PS3 4 sure.
Of course Wii wins in the fun factor.But PS3 is capable in generating the best quality of all in a game.
Do you know the 'CRAWZY' graphic and all of MGS4 only takes 10+ gigs of bluray disc while a single piece can store 40GB.And DON'T compare the lowered quality ones in XboX 360 (That still using DVD).

PS3 of course... It's Graphic supports the game really well... And in my opinion WII's games is boring...
