So I was planning on getting a xbox 360 for christmas but Im not really sure if i should get one as i was wondering if the newer batch of 360s were fixed that they dont have any problems anymore( like the red ring of death). So what im really asking is it safe to get a 360 now or are they still the same as the very first released batch where they had a ton of problems?

I'd say it's pretty safe to buy a 360 now. They've improved the system a lot and who wouldn't want to try out the new dashboard or get some of the new games that just came out? I'd suggest getting the 360 and grabbing Gears of War 2.

I don't know if they fixed the problem, but it comes with a warranty so what do you have to lose, besides your time.

Well I wouldn't say they fixed the problem, its more like they prolong the problem.

Well the problem is kinda fixed though, and new games for the 360 that aren't available for other systems are still coming out.

I don't think there's any system out there that's perfect in terms of fixes in their systems. Now for the 360, its safe to say that's its a good to buy since they are coming out with the newer mother boards that might stop the ROD but on the other fact warrenty will cover ROD problems. I've had the xbox 360 at the december after the PS3 came out, and its still working like a charm(not sure if that's a good thing). Thanks for the link for the new jasper chip didnt know that they came out with another chip. Also i went to best buy and asked wut chip they had in there 360's and the guy there said that they only have the falcon chip? is the falcon chip similar to the jasper chip or should i wait till they get the jasper chip?

Not sure if they fixed all the clinks in the armor so to say, but yeah I say is safe. I brought one 2 months ago and still works for me. A warranty I have for mine covers the ROD (Red Ring Of Death) so it won't hurt to have that either.

Jasper chip is the follow up to the falcon chip to reduce the cost of Xbox 360 and may fix the problem of the ring of death. Since I still have problem with the Xbox 360 even with the falcon chip. So you should wait for the Jasper Chip. Also with psyopslayerx the jasper chip has been out by August but I'm guessing that MS still have Xbox 360 with the falcon chip on shelves so you ask the clerk for the xbox 360 with the Jasper Chip. And even though MS boasts that the jasper chip runs quieter my friend says that it actually is louder than the falcon chip.
