Default Toonami is gone. . .

that's right, after 11 years Toonami has closed up shop. This link will take you to the goodbye video.

[Only registered users can see links. ]

Toonami gave me so many things. Dragon Ball Z, Outlaw Star, Tenchi, Trigun, Rurouni Kenshin, Naruto, and they got me addicted to anime to start with.

I feel really empty right now. I think i will go sleep now. . . . .

if you didn't get that reference, The VA for Tom also did Spike from Cowboy Bebop.

;_;

oh well, it's about time they stopped toonami. it was really awesome 5 years ago when I watched it. they played good stuff. the last few years have been beating a dead horse airing nothing but crap.

You know, as far as actually providing quality anime goes, toonami isn't really that much of a loss. I think the true value of toonami was introducing people to anime. I personally experienced this, watching kenshin and blue gender during middle school before abandoning cartoon network to go find better stuff on my own. I uess to me toonami was always "gateway anime."

I have put some thought into this and I have come up with an idea. I am the way I am today because of Toonami. When Toonami was on in the afternoons I learned to do homework with the TV on so I wouldn't miss anything. When Toonami was doing the Midnight Run I stayed up late as a kid to watch Outlaw Star and Dragon Ball Z.

I owe them so much. How about you?

Well at least the Toonami stream will continue. I haven't been able to catch any of the Batman: Gotham Knight episodes yet. I plan to though. It most likely had to do with them continually rearranging the time of Toonami and the more dedicated Toonami viewers growing up/getting a job/etc.

It sucks that they are closing up shop, cause I used to watch stuff on Toonami all the time. But in recent years it kind of fell under my radar. Chalk it up to life, I guess.

I especially remember watching Zoids, DBZ, and some of the older popular anime on Toonami before they switched the time to later in the day and then to the weekend.
