Sleep dissorder

Lately I seem to have trouble sleeping and I'm wondering if it's psychological or a accutal problem with my phisiology

Anyone else have problems one year when they've never had problems before? I can't think of what would be the change other than being single for the first time in 4 years...

Would that seem to be a major change, just not having some comfort level?

I was going to get a Mod to delete your repeating thread.... but you managed to change it... so it's all good ^^

Now~~regarding your sleeping problem~~
There are lots of ppl suffering from insomnia and the most common cause is lifestyle-related.
This includes stress, anxiety, and just a general "unease".
I make out from your words that you're having some relationship problems?(hope i'm right)~
I guess this could be a factor. If you're constantly thinking about what went wrong in your relationship and what could you have done to make amends....then I suggest you stop and just gently try to recover from your experience. You should do this if your relationship has really ended and there's no way of going back~~ I strongly suggest you do this because once a relationship falls apart...it's almost pointless to go back and eventually repeat the painful cycle.
So just relax and try to forget about all those bad memories~~ (I've been going thru the same thing for the past 2 months....so I know what it's like)

Other ways to relieve your sleep problems is by taking sedatives or antidepressants. Altho I strongly suggest you to seize the intake of these as soon as your emotional state returns to normal; because in all possible cases~~it's best to stay away from medications as much as you can~. It's always best to do things without relying on drugs and syringes >.^

Another effective way is to establish a kind of routine everyday near bedtime~~. Have a soothing glass of warm milk/cocoa~~ taking a bath~~ reading a novel~~~. Just anything to sooth and relax your mind~~~~~~
Then lie in bed...think of nothing....clear your mind....close your eyes.... and imagine yourself almost "sinking" into your bed~~~~~~deeper and deeper~~~ mind blank~~~~
RELAX~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

sweet dreams, SilentY (your username is encouraging you too >.^~~)
sleep well~~~~~~

My sincere thanks to momogirl for assembling this sig for me! >.^

Hmmmm... maybe relationship problems, more like the person I was together with for years is getting married after being in a relationship for a few months

Other than that most of it seems to stem from the fact that I can't "Clear" my mind, generally when I switch the lights off and lay down it takes a good hour or more of just trying to keep my eyes closed..

I guess I just have trouble blanking out thoughts... I used to be silent and peaceful but now I'm in anxiety mode 24/7

That does sound harsh.... like they forgot to tell you and deceived you..... very cruel way to hurt someone....
Now that I understand your situation...I can help you a bit more~~

Anxiety mode... *thinks~~~*
The opposite of anxiety is serenity.
The best way to obtain this is to divert your mind completely away from the thing that is causing your anxiety.
Some ppl busy themselves so much that they forget all their worries.
Others try to focus on other problems in their life.
The wisest method (by my experience) is to FACE your prob, and analyze them one by one no matter how painful they are~~

I know this contradicts my first thread about how you should just forget all your problems and move on. But let me explain.
The reason I told you to forget your probs was because i wasn't sure whether you're strong enough to reflect on your probs one by one. So i suggested you take the easy path and just try to forget everything.
But if you are strong enough and you think you can handle the pain of going thru your probs to try and permanently eliminate them from your mind.... then read on.

Go thru all the things that ever happened in your relationship during those few months and focus on all the suspicious and bad moments you've shared.... even the slightest ones...
Then understand the cause of that moment...the underlying meaning of that moment...and mentally put a gashing cut thru that thought AFTER learning from it and storing the 'essence' of that cause in your mind.

LEARN from your mistakes and weaknesses so that you can improve your future relationships.
After all, every affair is like a didactic journey which everyone takes~~ So treasure each one and learn from them to make the next one even better.... eventually, you'll find your destined one~~

Once you've mentally put a cut thru all these causes... the pain and anxiety should fade away and all that would be left is a numb and dull pain in your heart.
By this time...you will be able to sleep easy.

SilentY, if THIS doesn't work either~~~ then post again~~~ and I'll try to help you to the very best of my ability~~ (I suggest this method because it was what I used myself. Altho...I usually cried myself to sleep thinking and eliminating these 'causation essences'.... I never suffered insomnia.... but I DID suffer the same pain.... So DO TRY my method~~)

Listening to people with experience is whats best,

It's better to be wise and learn from others than to be smart and figure everything out on your own.

Thanks for the suggestions

well, i'm lazy to read through all of that, but for me, the most easiest way for me to sleep is when i'm tired, especially after sports, why don't you do some exercise and when you're tired, take a bath and it should be more easier to sleep after that

Aside from irregular sleep patterns and insomnia, I occasionally suffer from bouts of sleep paralysis and I've had minor delusions when sleep deprived... tiny spiders crawling into the mouse and keyboard.

Cinco is much detailed! Maybe you had rough life before, yes? Well, it is good if everything is all good now.

Sounds pretty serious... go get a med check man! Or... a simpler lifestyle.

Sleep problems can be derived from either physical or mental problems... or both. If your sleeping patterns are already in disarray... I suggest you try to fix it first slowly at a time. It took me at least one week to change my sleeping patterns (graveyard shift and stuff)... Try sleeping one hour early each time until you reach the correct time (regular as you desired).

Ah... if you're a heavy night class gamer... don't drink! That shit can kill you if combined with sleep depravity. And don't forget to eat... properly...

Preaching aside... a friend of mine nearly died from heavy gaming of DotA. Freakin' nutcase had ate only instant noodles and drunk vodka in the last few months...

Alcohol and drugs aren't an issue; I don't use them on principle, as for the delusions they're rare... the sleep paralysis is not. I'm not sure how mentally stable I am but I'm not psychotic... probably. Still a favorite saying of mine goes "An insane man believes himself to be sane, a sane one questions his sanity daily." I have plenty of issues and a tendency to lecture and ramble... as I'm doing now apparently... I've had psychological exams but they found little seriously wrong aside from my memory and apparently a high functioning form of autism. Aside from that I'm always healthy as a horse and eat a varied diet... I suppose a brain tumor is possible but I'm really not concerned that much.

insomnia maybe? Insomnia is a sleeping disorder characterized by persistent difficulty falling asleep or staying asleep despite the opportunity. It is typically followed by functional impairment while awake. Insomniacs have been known to complain about being unable to close their eyes or "rest their mind" for more than a few minutes at a time. Both organic and non-organic insomnia constitute a sleeping disorder.

Nice to meet you!....

eat healthy foods
try to minimize your dosage of alcohol and nicotine

when trying to sleep play a soft or any relaxing music you have
then try to read books that you are not fond of (that are just laying in your room)
you'll be out like a light in no time

sleep paralysis is a sign that your body cannot cope up with your daily/nightly activities

lastly consult a doctor, cause sleep disorder can lead to psychological problems

It seems from inspection of my symptoms I most likely suffer from a form of narcelepsy. I've been thinking about consulting a specialist for a while. The problem is that while there are drugs to control the drowsiness you are automatically disqualified from driving if you have the condition. Especially as I don't get sleepy behind the wheel and have had a perfect driving record for several years.

I had a suspicion; it isn't normal to fall asleep while busy in the middle of the day, despite jabbing yourself with a pen to stay conscious. Or to sleep through every bus and train ride. (I get a window seat so I don't fall on the people next to me.) I would fall asleep during school classes regularly and later University classes. Sometimes I fall asleep as many as three times a day, then suffer insomnia. It is just I guess I don't want to admit I have it in real life.
