An 8-year-old-boy who recently completed a school project on hunting with his father died Saturday after being shot by his father while hunting turkey in Minnesota.

See, this is horrible and I shouldn't have, but the first time I heard that the guy mistook his son for a turkey I just started laughing.

Maybe he wanted to shoot his son. It is kind of hard to say what goes through a person's mind.

Well i think that he was really far from his kid, so to shoot and the kid died and all, he must have been aiming for it... =___=

no matter the distance how can you not tell a human child from a turkey? I can not find a single excuse for it other than going blind.

i wonder if he thought he could do imitate Cheney and get away with it. haha. sorry to bring back stuff that was ridiculed a while back but it was gonna happen sooner or later.
In all seriousness tho, thats pretty messed up. i don't even want to think as to what the dad is feeling about after killing his son.

that's quite sad. however, if you been hunting before you'll know that the animals won't wait long for you to shoot them.

the father probaly lose his patient and shot his son without identify the target first = ="

Catch me if you can...DARE

I take it he didn't have much experience either because even animals have a pattern that they follow. And speaking from a parent's point of view, I would make sure my son is at or close to my side before I take the first shot.

"OMG a turkey... let's shoot it... Son don't move..."
*The son sneezes... Father shoots...*
"Told you not to move..."

Sorry it's just to fun... and also tragic... I mean how can you mistake your son for a turkey... unless he was dressed like one...

Hummm...

1. Dad is freaking blind!
2. Son got unlucky. The gun slips... that is what we called fate...
3. Dad wants to kill son.
4. Somebody tricks us all...

oh...

5. Son wants to protect the turkey...

Life is a game and I intend to enjoy playing it

I think its an accident. No way a kid will be mistaken for a turkey; sounds too much like a joke to be ever true.

Son trying to protect the turkey.. the kid's a hero at heart then.
