All anime deemed child pornography in uk?

Hey,

My friend and I were talking and she randomly said that are thinking of banning all anime in uk - as it would be deemed as child pornography - and if your caught with any of it - you could be charged as a paedophile???? I dont know if this is true, I just want to hear your views on it.

This is what I have to say to the UK some people really shouldn't have the right to speak, unless they can speak with intelligence.

i'm just saying what my friend told me, not what i believe. i like anime you know - i dont want it to be banned. not all anime is paedophilic - so for example - you have animes which dont feature young kids - but ecchi is usually school girls etc etc - and like loli - that portrays very young children. I don't think it should be deemed as child pornography though, because it's not a real person - it's a drawing.

Second, I agree with you anime is not child porn. I just don't understand how anyone can make that claim. Doesn't porn have to have sex involved for it to be porn?

i dont think so - a woman had pictures of her very young kids wearing nothing at the seaside and got it blown up on canvas for her home -and was told to take them down as it was child pornography as they were wearing no clothes. its ridiculous the rules around these days

That is ridiculous. I think that there are some people out there that just make up stuff just to make other peoples lives difficult.

You said earlier anyone caught with anime would be changed pedophile. I just can't imagine that anime would be treated like it is some kind of drug. This is almost to ridiculous to be taken seriously. Still it is just a rumor so someone must be thinking about it.

Wouldn't matter. UK can't ban anything without a lot of support financially and morally. The companies could easily fight this off, due to the fact that they need money. Regardless, you can't be charged as a pedophile, until you're 18.

i found this on the bbc - worth a listen to - its more so over the fact that the uk cant determine the difference between drawn image and photographic image - to determine if the drawn more explicit version of anime eg hentai and ecchi should be banned as child pornography. Uk can ban anything they want if it doesnt bring that much revenue in.

that's not saying any person who finds your Kodome no Jikan doujin stash won't forever think of you as a pedophile,

but even loli porn really can't become illegal in the U.S., as long as the lolis are 2-d and drawn.

you may have to be over 18 to be charged as a paedophile, but in the uk - many dont find out about anime/manga untill they r older n e way - other than the televised series like pokemon and yu-gi-oh. most other anime appeals to an older market.

see if its 2d and drawn - thats what the uk is debating - whether it should be treated the same as a photographic image
