This post is just for some basic opinion on this idea. I was thinking of ways to make more money for SH without putting ads up on the site and someone suggested why don't you do commissioned Translations.

Well it's not a bad idea and i would translate these mangas from Japanese only (i can't read chinese) ... i can converse with Japanese people easily so i think i would keep the original meanings and stuff.

Won't work on loli or shota stuff though... would people be interested in paying though is the question ? Opinions ?

I think thats a great idea and nice way to raise money for SH :D
and as long as people are prepared to pay for things like that i think this idea could really work!

In my old manga group, to pay for the website we were sponsered by mangafox.
Made like 10$ a release >.> But other sites will stop uploading your manga though xD

How about crowd sourcing funding? I've been wanting to have a series translated for awhile. I even tried to translate some of it myself using a Japan-English Dictionary but that isn't working out so well (my vocab sucks).

Well, I can't afford to spent $10 for every chapter. I'll donate $10 dollars per volume so I just need to find 10-20 people as ecchi as myself.

Social networking for funding will help as much as networking for scanslation. I have raws but I need a way share raws with other folks and create a funding pool for scanslation with other fans.

Personally, I think all manga will eventually be crowd commissioned with the Mangaka being paid directly by the fans without the Big Publishers.
