I really think this was an awesome anime. I really liked the story line...well in the end was kinda...expected..but anyways!! I liked the character design(I think its done by clamp?) and although I didn't like any mecha..I really thought this changed my mind

Synopsis:
On August 10, 2010, a.t.b. (the Imperial calendar), the Holy Empire of Britannia overpowered Japanese forces and conquered the country with their new robotic weapons, the Knightmare Frames, in less than a month. In the aftermath of Britannia's invasion, Japan lost its freedom, its rights, and even its name, becoming Area 11 of the Britannian Empire. The Japanese people, renamed as "Elevens", are forced to survive in poor neighborhoods, while Britannians live in first-class settlements. Rebel elements persist, however, as pockets of Japanese organizations struggle against the Empire for the independence of Japan.
After his father, the Emperor of Britannia, failed to prevent the assassination of his mother, an attack which also left his sister blind and crippled, the young prince Lelouch vowed to destroy Britannia. Seven years later, he accidentally becomes mixed up with "terrorists" in Area 11 and encounters a mysterious girl named C.C., who gives him the power of Geass. With it, he finally has the power that he needs to defeat Britannia and fulfill his two wishes: to seek revenge for his mother and to construct a world in which his beloved sister can live happily.

Personal Note
for those who know or have watch Death Note,Code Geass is much better than it... rather than just c how he ploting his move,u will oso c a lot of action in this series... on top of that, the storyline is totally unexpected... for example,"he" is a fren b4 but now "he" is an enemy n later "he" is a foe... i would rate this anime 10 out of 10...
I do have to say, despite how poor some of the subs are on my download of season one, this really is a great anime. Some of the thinking ahead that Lelouche does is a little over the top, but the story and execution are great nonetheless.
Ok, this anime was good and all... but I don't know why allot of people think its one of the best animes ever... just take a look at this [Only registered users can see links. ] The anime was probally one of the most uncreative that I've seen, the characters weren't really that like-able the first time I heard Shirley speak I wanted to kill myself... The only really plus side of this anime is C.C. which is one of the most sexiest characters ever. So, if you do watch this anime, watch it for C.C. or her REAL name which we never got to find out...

it all depend on the person... for u it is not the best but for other ppl it can b the best... n they din give out C.C. name mayb they r planing to make an OVA/etc which will explain her past... who know...
I have really gotten to like animes like Code Geass and death Note for the simple reason that they make you think. i am a big fan of mindless violence and pointless nudity, but it is good to see something like Code Geass out there.
I am just glad that Adult Swim started running the second season at a better time.
Some days it's not even worth chewing through the restraints.
It was pretty cool, loved it how the whole show ran kinda like "SAW" with its plot twists, shows that make you think are cool (even though some of you saw the ending was predictable) i dint see it coming, based on actions lulu (sorry i can never spell his name right) did in the past i expected him to force his idea of a perfect world onto the masses till he was ripe and old and than die, but the way it did end was more honorable than my theory but ether way it was pretty cool.
