Animes with good story to recommend

I just finish watching Code Geass R2 and I would have to say the story is amazing, and i was just wondering if there were any other anime that has a good story as well as visual graphics. Eureka 7 is one I liked to, maybe any anime similar or whatever.~

Your idea of story must include badly written crap then. Both Eureka 7 and Code Geas were badly written.

Good story is something that's hard to come by. People will like what they like. There could be a story with plenty of plot twists, but all of them are cliche. There could be a show with no severe plot twists, and still capture the viewer.
It really depends on what you want to watch for.

You seem to like Mecha anime, so let me recommend Mecha that aren't crappy:

GaoGaiGar (Super robot anime. Fair story, but extremely epic later on.)

RahXephon (Crazy sums it up. This tried to take a sort of Evangelion approach. You have to think when watching this one.)

Evangelion. (If you haven't watched it, you have too. Quite possibly the best anime ever.)

Full Metal Panic (Mixes real robot, with some comedy, romance, ect.)

with eva, you will need to watch it with someone. that is because if you watch it by yourself, your sanity is in danger........

gaigaigar final (if you watched the tv series)
hajime no ippo (great one for those who gets bullied)
gundam seed (not destiny)
shuffle (love the comedy)
flame of recca (although not as good as the manga, still good)
rave (epic manga and anime)

Code Geass R2 is good, but still make me headache.....

Gundam SEED is good, but not Destiny....

Still wait for Gundam 00 Season 2, Season 1 good enough....... :-|

Rahxaphon was actually one of those anime I wanted to watch but just cant find any episodes.

Well i dont think the stories of Eureka 7 and Code Geass arent that bad. I probably just liked the way the character develops through out the entire series.

And i did watch Eva alone and it was madness!!!

It was so hard to follow the story, well that what makes the anime cool, haha.

I would have to say I prefer love/ comedy i guess, with mecha....maybe not

I also started watching Xam'd a pretty interesting anime.

Gundam 00 I liked it too, and same as you i believe Gundam Seed is better than Destiny.

soukyu no fafner and heroic age are good mecha animes with decent animation/stories.
rahxephon was good, best places to get it would be either buy the box set(..yeah...) or get into one of the IRC channels of a grp which has the DVD rips, i guess boxtorrents or whatever might have the full series but seeding always suck with big batches.

what crack me up the most on eva is that an emo 15ish kid is piloting the best weapon mankind made.
love gundam 00 story start up. they did all that to change the world, now they have to destroy what they made,lol.

Eva was cool, but what probably annoyed me the most was the fact that the main character was emo to the max.

For the love/comedy part without mecha : Girls Bravo/ Shuffle/ Kamisama Kazoku/ Minami family ( Minami Ke ).
Then if you want to try it : Maburaho

Elfen Lied. It mixes love, comedy, drama and huge amounts of blood and flying limbs in a way that's bound to get you interested. It's also just about the right lenght with 13 eps (or was it 14) so you won't get bored. Did I already mention the boobies?

if u're having a probs of getting the old good anime to watch, recent animes are good too....

Clannad (if u like love/comedy, Clannad is the best!) both 1st and after story

Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya (if u can follow EVA's story, this one should be easy to comprehend. put the sci-fi aspect aside, good story and comedy!)

Akane-iro ni Somaru Saka (not bad, but have a hope for upcoming eps)

I just got finished watching Eureka Seven not even 30 minutes ago. I thought it was great and loved every bit of it.

As for other anime with great stories. I really liked Chrono Crusade. It had a great storyline and I was hooked when I saw it. Also Mai Hime was pretty good story wise and it has really great characters that are all pretty likable.
