Xam'd Lost Memories

aah damn, just watched the first episode and this has to be 1 of the best animes of the new season!!!
but probably not many people know the anime since it isn't airing in Japan, but on the Playstation Network.
[Only registered users can see links. ]
you can rent the first episode for $2.99 or $3.99 depending if you want lower or higher quality.

I found this anime through [Only registered users can see links. ]
and today a torrent was released on Tokyo Toshokan with the first episode

I watched it and loved it. BONES is working together with Sony to make this anime and it looks really good. it kind of gives of this old-school anime feeling but from this time.

you can check the Random Curiousity link to see what the episode is about

so, anyone else saw the episode aswell?

I saw that episode, the first thing I thought as soon as I saw it was that I got reminded of the Eureka Seven anime. For me though it seemed to be off to a bit of a slow start since I had almost no idea of what was going on at the time until a little later on in.

Then just as it had finally gotten me drawn in the episode ended! Now I'm sitting in front of my screen and checking to see if the new episodes been released yet. This series is amazing, that's all I can say.

Another step forwards I take and yet as the newest chapter in my life comes to a close I stop to reflect upon all that I have seen and done, in the end I can only come to one conclusion. "I want a redo."

well, shows are usually best with the first episode a bit slow paced and not alot of information about what's going on, that so makes you want to watch the next episode, and I like shows like that.

nowadays there aren't enough shows that really make me want to watch the next episode, so I really like this one

Well I can agree about it being better when the first episodes leave us hanging on the edge of our seats, it's very rare that I find a series that actually hooks me right from episode 1, most of the time it's watch an episode and then drift around until I notice a new episode then decide if I want to watch it or not.

All I can really say about this series is that I am going to be follow very closely for any notice about a new episode having been released.

there are alot of people who judge an anime on the first episode, and often drop it because they don't like the first episode, but Xam'd shouldn't have a problem with the first episode to many people xD

just hope the person who released the episode on Tokyo Toshokan will keep doing this

No argument here.

Also I'm kinda curious, what do you think of the design of Xam'd (At least I think that's the name of the white creature the main character turned into)?

For some reason whenever I take another look at him my mind starts drawing comparisons between him and Unit 01 from Evangelion, though that might just be because of the long head he has and the weird frill that appears on the back of Unit 01's helmet...

the creature the guy turned in to is called Xam'd, although I've doubts that the guy is the main character, because in the OP/ED it's pretty much focused on the girl.

but yea, alot of people see similarities in Xam'd from shows like Eureka 7 and Evangelion, and I agree, but it's not a bad thing.

I always figured that the openings for anime would show the one who would have the biggest impact on the story or make the most profound affect on the characters (not necessarily have to be a main). Well I could be wrong about that though, the only real way to be sure is to wait for the new episodes and see how plot progresses.

well, there are alot of kinds of OP/EDs... you've the summary kind that shows what's going to happen, you've the mood setting type, that brings you into the mood of the anime, you've the character type, that focuses alot on 1 character and there are alot more....

guess the only way to see what kind of OP it is is by watching more xD but I already do know the girl is going to play a big role...

well, guess there's no choice but to double post since the second episode is out :D

and I liked the second episode, lots of action in the first half with lots of people get hurt or dying, but the best parts of the episode has to be with Akiyuki trying to make contact and the talk between his parents ^_^ lots of emotions between the parents...

Just saw the first and second episode and they were brilliant.

It definitely reminded me of Eureka 7 and had a little bit of Ghibli.
It's BONES here so we can expect more smooth animation and great action.

I also read somewhere that after its finished releasing on PSN, that they're gunna air it?
Not sure about that...

yea, this show will be aired in Japan, think it was around Autumn, but am not completely sure...
just saw some screencaps of episode 3 at Random Curiousity and am kind of disappointed at it.... it feels way too much like Eureka 7
